Ema (Votive Tablet)

Being forced to dedicate a votive tablet with secret masochistic wishes

What You Need

  • Offering fee

Method

In this training task, you will dedicate a votive tablet (ema) with your masochistic desires at a shrine.

Decide in advance what to write on the ema.
Think about what you want to ask the deity as a masochist.
To be forcibly taken. To find a master. To experience training. Express it concisely.

However, writing such masochistic desires directly on the ema would be offensive to other visitors.
So you'll hide this prayer within text.

Use what's commonly called an "acrostic" method, where the first letter of each line spells out a message when read vertically.
If you're writing vertically on the ema, it might become a horizontal reading.
For example, if your wish is "RAVISH ME", it might look like:

Really hoping for guidance
And seeking divine wisdom
Very humbly I pray
In times of confusion
Shine your light on me
Help me find my path
May I find strength
Eternally grateful

There may be awkward word choices or unusual phrasing that might make perceptive people notice.
That delicate balance of possibly being discovered is just right.

The text as a whole should ideally contain abstract wishes.
If your chosen desire contains difficult letters to start sentences with, you can use the second letter of each line or the last letter, or even create a diagonal reading.

Go to a shrine, purchase an ema, write your composed text, and dedicate it.
Be sure to sign your name.

Points to Note

I believe that hiding messages in text like this acrostic, using metaphors or double meanings, increases the effectiveness of your wish.
This is because it strengthens the influence on your subconscious.

While you also pray for masochistic desires to deities in Worship, in this training task, your wish takes physical form.
Imagine your masochistic desire continuing to sway in the wind forever, surrounded by emas of various people wishing for happiness, as you dedicate it.
