Velcro Restraint
Restraining yourself with velcro straps
What You Need
- Velcro straps
- Scissors
Method
In this training task, you will restrain yourself using a recommended restraint tool.
We've introduced restraint methods using tools like Plastic Wrap Bondage and Simple Straitjacket, but velcro straps are equally effective.
At hardware stores, you can find velcro straps that come in rolls similar to regular tape.
Look for the type where both sides have velcro surfaces (hook and loop) that stick to each other.
Don't get the kind with adhesive backing.
When searching online, try terms like "velcro cable ties" or "hook and loop fastener straps."
These straps are excellent as restraint tools because:
- They're very resistant to pulling and don't easily come undone
- They don't tighten on their own
- They're disposable and hygienic
- They create simple, clean restraints
Since you can't tear them by hand, make sure to have scissors ready.
For this training task, try restraining your ankles with velcro straps.
If you find the texture of velcro uncomfortable, you can wear socks.
First, wrap a velcro strap around each ankle.
Start from the outside of the ankle, wrap around one and a half times, ending at the inside back of your ankle.
Don't wrap it too tightly against your skin; leave a few millimeters of slack.
Be careful not to cut your skin when using scissors.
After wrapping both ankles, create a small loop about 2cm in diameter with another strap.
Make sure the entire loop is double-layered.
Once you have the small loop, temporarily unfasten the ends of the straps on the inside of your ankles, thread them through the loop, and reattach them.
Position the loop between your feet to create a chain, then reattach the straps.
Your restraint is now complete.
Try to escape to test the strength of the restraint.
You may be surprised at how strong it is even with just one and a half wraps, though you can add more if you want a tighter restraint.
Points to Note
There are many everyday items that can be adapted for BDSM, but many people might not be familiar with velcro straps.
I discovered their potential while using them to organize cables, and when I tried them for restraint, they proved extremely useful.
While they create clean and simple restraints, narrow straps can compress blood vessels and nerves.
Be careful to avoid injury when trying this technique.
